Volunteer

Volunteers play an active role in all aspects of the enterprise.

You don’t have to have any experience, just a willingness to contribute your time and enthusiasm to get Glasgow Wood Recycling diverting more wood from landfill.

Volunteer roles range from Wood Collection Assistant to Marketing and Administration. All volunteers are provided with basic health and safety training & equipment and we can help you to develop new skills through further specialist training.

Volunteers with learning difficulties will find good support from our friendly staff!

Current Opportunities

Marketing Help

We are currently looking for help with Marketing - any learners, assistants or gurus are welcome! We need help and advice in retailing, displaying, sign writing, maintaining our website and generally getting our message out there. Please feel free to contact us with your thoughts or ideas. If you can help with any of these tasks it would be very appreciated. Even better, if you can spare a half or full day each week that would be great.

Board Member - Director

Volunteers would be asked to take part in board meetings approximately every two months, meetings lasting normally no more than two hours. Meetings would involve you contributing to developing a young social enterprise into a more sustainable business. (We have been trading for two years) Our existing board is small, with five nice people who have helped get the enterprise started. They would like some new people, with broader experience to help the continued growth of the organisation. We need a few people who may know something about marketing, business planning, financial management, developing staff and volunteers and growing new start businesses to the next level. That said, anyone who is committed to social and environmental aims is likely to have lots to offer in supporting our enterprise. If it were your first time we would welcome you with open arms and encourage your participation.
